Thrivent & Compass — Where are you going, financially?

Feeling some financial pressure as the Back to School bills and fees start piling up?

Thrivent financial is teaming up with Compass Christian Church to provide some help.   These seminars are guaranteed to be quilt free and non-judgemental.  Through discussion and activities the Thrivent group helps you discover what you want to make your financial priority and to discover ways to make these goals a reality.

Two opportunities are being offered:

September 7-28  —  Wednesday evenings 6-7:30 PM.   Thrivent seminars & Workshops:

More than Money Matters.   Series of 4 sessions about 1 hour in length.  This values-based workshop series can help you develop skills to take charge of your finances and reach your goals.  It offers information and tools on topics such as setting goals, debt and credit, finding money to save and budgeting.

October 2 / Sunday.  Lunch at 11:30 AM.  Thrivent seminars & Workshops:

Making a Difference seminar following lunch.    This workshop is designed to help you share your resources (time, talents and treasures) thoughtfully and intentionally in ways that align with your values.  You will explore ways to make the most of your resources.  A light lunch is offered for participants at 11:30 am followed by the workshop.

All the Thrivent sessions will be led by Mr. Don George who grew up in Kenmore and still lives the community.  He is very tuned into the life circumstances surrounding the financial picture in our neighborhood.

Our mission statement guides us in all we do.

We are a membership organization of Christians, and our members are our owners.

Our purpose is to serve our members and society by guiding both to be wise with money and live generously.

We believe that all we have is a gift from God and that generosity is an expression of faith.

We succeed when our members, their families and their communities thrive.

We value our relationships, so we will: Be trustworthy in character and competence, and Act like owners and treat each other as owners, and Live balanced and generous lives.

Community Concerts @ Compass

64 to Grayson

AUGUST 6, Saturday night, 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm

From 4:00 in the evening through about 6:45 pm the plans are to have inflatable games for the children as well as a food truck.  As the food and games wind down the group 64 to Grayson will take the stage for a concert starting at 7:00 pm.  (inclement weather will move the concert into the auditorium)

Zack Shelton and 64 to Grayson have scuffs on their boots from all up and down the east coast and nothing is looking to slow them down.  Voted one of the “Top 20 Most Prospective Groups of 2014” by Music Connection Magazine, Zack Shelton and 64 to Grayson’s unique blend of backwoods instruments, lyrical wit, and hardwood-pew values makes for an experience that will leave you with a smirk on your face and a tap in your toes.

The band’s six-foot-three lead-singer, Zack Shelton, seen with acts such as Josh Turner, The Gaithers, and The Charlie Daniels Band is unmistakably no stranger to the stage. Being the son of Gospel musician Thomas Shelton, Zack gets his passion for music honest.  Teaming up with Zack to form 64 to Grayson are cohorts Craig Cunningham and Tiffany Baker.
This past November the group released their latest project “Loved and Free”, which takes an honest look into the mind and passion of Zack Shelton and 64 to Grayson’s music.  With songs about home, the road, politics, faith, and love, Zack and company’s cards are laid out on the table and they hold nothing back.
Geared toward an array of all ages and backgrounds, Zack Shelton and 64 to Grayson has lit a fire of a following that is burning brighter with each show.  “Whatever God is getting ready for us,” notes Zack, “we’ll be charging at it face first and full-throttle.”Zack 64 to Grayson

Events are offered at no charge to the community(An opportunity will be given to donate toward the cost if anyone desires to do so)

Bring your lawn chair and the family for a couple of great musical experiences.
